TREVORS TOES AND TUSHIES 501c3 serves to provide new socks and underwear for kids living in poverty. Our mission is to fill in the gap that other clothing drives do not assist with. Many children were going without these essentials and that was unacceptable to us. Hence TREVORS TOES AND TUSHIES was created. We’ve held an annual drive to collect new socks and underwear from August to November. We then work with social workers and various shelters or chosen recipient groups in our local area to help get the donations where they are needed.
We have held this drive for 5 years but this is the first year as a 501c3. Earlier drives were collecting ONLY socks and underwear. This year it is our hope to be able to also collect money and then, in turn, work directly with manufacturers to buy in bulk the necessities for the groups we support.
In the past we have supported:
- Crisis Nursery of Rochester
- Coldwater Women and Children’s Shelter
- Pencils and Paper
- Various School in the area the have a percentage of kids living in poverty
We are also in contact with local school and social workers and have been contacted when they see a need in their school. In those cases that occur outside the drive period, we want to be able to purchase the necessities for these kids.
